We will still need renewable for reactors do cool river water down, if we have enough to start with. Thee issues France is having increasing problems with. Better to build them on the coast for access to seawater.

What could possibly go wrong if this mob went ahead with their nuclear plan. Apparently it is a four page document with no actual plans or assessments.
I guess they could just point to their previous successes with various projects. The vaccine roll out, commuter car parks, inland rail, robo debt and the NBN all come to mind.
What a wonderful history of outstanding successes and in each case, everyone involved being too modest to accept responsibility.
As the French are fairly big players in this industry perhaps they could call on Scotty to go over and handle negotiations. I understand they are very fond of him.

We have had Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear reactors presented as a reason for not having a nuclear power in Australia.
The worst Chernobyl was caused by human error and failure to admit there was a problem for far too long.
Three Mile Island there were no injuries or adverse health effects from the incident
Fukushima there we no deaths or cases of radiation sickness, however you should remember the devastion in the area was caused by tsunami with its 13m tidal wave, not the damage to the Nuclear power station.
So its a pretty poor example to use against the Dutton plan.
