Cancer...some of us want a new car..a new phone..to lose weight..but someone battling cancer just wants one thing, to win that battle. 97% of my friends won't post this but 3% will. Please repost this in honor of someone who lost their battle, or someone who is still fighting

In the past it was every now and then we would hear about someone with cancer. That's increased in the last few years. Lost 2 of my bosses at work from cancer 10 years ago, another worker had cancer and was fighting it, think he didn't win. 4 work mates in the last 6 years got cancer of different types, only 1 left alive now. He had prostate and then bowel cancer but beat both, so far. Sister in law, brest cancer doing good now. Son in law's father diagnosed 2 years ago died 6 weeks ago. Guy I played soccer with long time ago had melanoma which had spread to his brain, treatment worked and he is OK. Guy up the road had liver cancer, got a transplant and is just doing OK, but he is alive. Along with all this going on their son who lived with them committed suicide to top things off. Guy down the road has cancer, don't see him much anymore, don't think it's good. Found out today a lady down the road has breast cancer, both breasts, 3 different types and small amount in a lung. Has had operations to get most of it out, now on chemo and radiotherapy to come but knocks her around badly. Wife was diagnosed with melanoma cancer, stage 3. Cancer on her scalp, behind the ear lymph nodes, neck lymph nodes, spots on liver and spleen. 2 big patches taken off her scalp, 1st treatment for a few treatments then changed to the 2nd for a couple then changed to the 3rd 19 moths ago but is working. All cancer is shrinking and some not detectable any more.10 years ago would be probably dead. Melanoma treatment has come so far in 10 years. Some I probably haven't mentioned here.
Seems to be the more people you talk to about it the more you find how many people are dealing with this.
I got a good report today from my cancer specialist. Go back in 12 months, down to yearly visits now.
Do have a 34 mm scar on my left cheek though with a SCC cut out two weeks ago. Got the stitches out this week so can shave again soon!!!
While they were cutting, my skin man was saying to his assistants that he did a seminar and SCC's are killing more people than before and their instruction now is to take more flesh as a precaution.
Hence a 3.4 cm scar instead of a smaller one but I would rather have it out and have the discomfort and look like something you don't want to meet in a dark alley rather than the alternative.
I might have got a clear report today, but as my late father said many years ago when he was crook with similar, his words were "You must remember it is an insidious disease".
It will strike back again and with low immunity, I now have to go to the skin man every 3 months now as a precaution, but as stated above, the advancements in medical treatment at least gives us all a fighting chance in this day and age.
