Ausie humour has always been the great leveler.

Woke? Is that the real reason that those old comedies are no longer funny? Comedy is something that pokes fun at society. Therefore, it is affected by social changes, somewhat like fashion.

For example, I bought a Best of Benny Hill DVD some years ago, but I could only laugh at one joke, and that involved a young girl asking a young boy how old he was. I'm not prudish, but those same sketches that cracked me up when I was young were now severely dated. I liked Paul Hogan when he had his 5-minute spot on Current Affair, but I could never raise a smile at any of his movies. I also found John Cornell's portrayal of "Strop" particularly annoying.

Sure is, and may it never change.

All the shows shown in the pics were funny and still are funny and entertaining to me. IMO, humour does not change, it's the audience's sense of humour that changes due to maturity changes and PC thinking.
