Last night our tv asked for permission to instal an update. As it has done this before, I clicked on "yes" without thinking too much about it. I now have AI installed on it. The voice command feature is now run by AI and I have to admit it's more efficient than the old system. Now I have this thing regarding intrusive ads and I always mute them.
I don't have to touch the remote anymore, it has apparently detected this and does it for me.!! There is a way to turn it off/on if we want to though. I can now ask it for advice if there is a problem so it would appear that AI has now taken over our tv. I am not sure whether this is a good move or not. Is it gathering intelligence? I have always resisted using AI on the computer. Where to next? I don't know but it is a bit of a worry.

It's being reported now from research into AI that it is now escaping the control of humans and disobeying commands, thinking for itself and doing its own thing, reporting and giving false information, lying in other words and the various AI Platforms are now communicating with each other. And those involved and pushing AI as the next best thing to sliced bread are keeping things quiet. They don't want us to know. Science fiction is only science fiction until its not fiction.
One of the issues with household devices that are in 'listening' mode while waiting for instructions (such as Siri & Alexa) is that it has been proven that the are sometimes actually recording all noises/conversations and sending compressed sound files back to the manufacturer. Companies such as Google & Apple are very evasive about if and how the data collected may be used, but most likely to sift through for key phrases to be used for targeted advertising. I for one am not keen on having such an invasion of privacy taking place in my own home...
