Shipping Containers ?

What is the go with shipping containers, say if you want to buy a used one for storing stuff at home or if you want to move etc. If getting moved, do some company's supply these for your stuff for removal or later storage? I saw a house near me today with one out the front, I think they may be moving? Thanks
