After 2 years, I'm still out there!!
(Preview)
I can't believe that it has been 2 years now that I have been on the road! A lot of the newbies won't know me as I haven't been on here too much lately. I'm a Kiwi, who sold up all to come over here, buy a m/home and drive around the block! I've done, Vic, SA, NT and WA. It's taken me two years because I am not old eno...

(Preview)
Hello, I am new here and not sure I belong, I am still in my late 30s with only a few grey hairs :) I am going to travel Australia for a year on my own. It will be a mix of camping of my station wagon and housesitting and picking up work where I can to keep the funds moving. As you can imagine there don't seem to be m...

Women travelling solo
(

(Preview)
We quite often see queries on here by and about women thinking of hitting the road on their own. Some seem (understandably) apprehensive. However, I had a chat today with the manager of a camper dealership in Perth's northern suburbs. He had a big range of the type of camper vans that would suit the sin...

Cost of travelling alone - I'm angry!
(

(Preview)
What a whinger! but honestly. I've just returned from a 15000kms trip around WA in my Hiace. I'm pretty disgusted with the cost of both powered and non-powered sites in caravan parks - especially in WA. In 99% of cases I was charged exactly the same as 2 people in a large caravan being towed by a large vehi...

ADVENTURES

I thought I'd start a thread about our experiences on the road. My favourite anecdote is from 1982. The setting is between Cloncurry and Mt Isa. The cast was my ex, 3 young children and myself. The car...the good old Kingswood...broke down leaving us stranded on the side of the road in the middle of now...
