Transmission oil flush, or oil and filter change.
(Preview)
Swampy made me think, I've had the oil flush, no filter change. Go to the transmission specialist and they say you have to remove the sump and change the filter, had that too. Now I have noticed in the USA, they are fitting an external filter as a kit, perhaps the oil flush and an external filter is a good id...

Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50 Transmission cooling system.
(

(Preview)
Has anyone got any idea why the Ranger and Bt50 use a heat exchanger for cooling of the transmission, when the cooling medium is the engine coolant? in other words the transmission is always going to be 6-12 degrees hotter than the engine coolant. If the engine is working, then the coolant temperature...

Truma Air cons
(Preview)
Hi, I'm looking into air for my Jayco Freedom poptop 18' single beds. I'm not sure if it;s fitted with a H frame for rooftop install. How can I tell? Also Truma under bed aircons. Are they any good. One service agent had a different name for them. So I'm asking the ones who know. Cheers Rob.

Doing your own vehicle service.
(

)
(Preview)
Is there anything illegal about doing your own vehicle service. Are auto mechanics registered, and do they have a number to quote when signing for a service, if they don't do the work on behalf of a registered garage. Now that I am holed up with no where to go, am wondering about doing this work myself.

Safety Chains....again!
(Preview)
Doubt that any of these safety-chain setups would prevent the drawbar from hitting the road if the van parted company with the car? And one of them costs mega-dollars,for little gain.Cheers. P.S Still trying to work out how to attach photos from my iPad?

Towball Weight - Just wondering !
(Preview)
As I was checking tyre pressures, and as I kicked the last tyre, I wondered how the manufacturer worked out tow ball weight. My thoughts were that since the suspension on our van is a separate assembly, it would make sense, that this assembly remained free to move until construction had finished, then...

HWS problem
(Preview)
This has been probably done before, but asking for a mate who has a New Age van and his HWS (Swift, I think) is working how he describes as fluttering, on gas only. It does not fire up with a normal boom, but seems to go up and down in strength. Any ideas? maybe the Regulator? Cheers Bob
