Struts
(Preview)
Hi all. As I am slowly but surely turning into an old fart, nearly 68, I thought that I would fit struts to my A van pop top roof. This may be a stupid observation but what happens when the roof is down and the canvas folds in ? It looks as though it is too much to fit behind the struts. Am I stupid or what ????

Portable dog bowl
(Preview)
My sister had a brilliant idea when travelling with their dog - he drinks a lot, so she bought a dinner plate size round plastic bowl, with a lid that fits tight. She then proceeded to cut a circle in the lid, big enough for the dog to get his head in. They can sit it on the floor of the car, or even the seat, an...

tent peg replacement
(Preview)
New to the forum but thought I could offer a suggestion to anyone using tent pegs. I recently changed from using and carrying a lot of pegs, I have opted for using 200mm landscape screws with a battery drill for insertion and removal. It's a very easy alternative to belting pegs into the ground and requi...

All the fisho's out there know just how frustrating it can be fishing at night or trying to find that just right hook and tie the bugger on or if you are a beach waker as I am and leave the gear on the beach then struggle to relocate it in the dark or warn others that my gear is there before they drive over it ,...

Dual trip meter app for iPhone
(Preview)
Found this when looking for an odometer app for my redundant iPhone - it's exactly what I wanted: dual trip meters, no speedometer to get in the way and BIG numbers easily read at a glance. Values are retained when the app is closed. Displaying distance travelled to 2 decimal places (10 metres) is proba...

Couplemate modification.
(Preview)
Most will be familiar with the so called marriage saver...the Couplemate. Well I guess it does make hooking up the van a bit more stress free but a problem is that the adaptor plate that attaches to the towbar tongue can allow the towball nut to loosen when a hockey stick or similar WDH is used. This see...
