caps on toliet cassette
(Preview)
We found it does not pay to leave the cap of the toilet cassette on the side of dump point pit. Knocked it down the hole. Lesson learned $20 later for new cap. Olive oil helps slide when applied to rubber lip seal for easier sliding.

Wood dust in van
(Preview)
we have had our Bailey Valencia for just over 12 months. Every time we go to use it, there appears to be small piles of wood dust sometimes interspersed with little black dots. We have assumed it may be coming from ants and last time when we packed up the van, my husband sprayed thoroughly around the outsi...

I built this yesterday. I have always disliked knife blocks since; 1. you have to have the right size for the knives you have. 2. You have to pay attention when stowing the knife. 3.They get all scungy. This one has an open sided box packed with skewers and you just chuck the knives in. Yes the paring knive...

Bread Bag Clips
(Preview)
I watched a video on YouTube a little while back, and one of the tips this bloke had for camping was to use bread bag clips for clothes pegs. I thought it was a neat idea, but it would take a while to collect a useful amount. But, they normally just get thrown out and they are nice and compact, so not a bad idea....

Onforwarding Picture Jokes From A Microsoft PC To A Mac PC....
(Preview)
I was getting complaints from my Mac friends that jokes that had been sent to me from other Microsoft users (like me) were being received with no pictures, just crosses. One solution that was very time consuming and impractical for multi pictures was to save the pics to My Pics and then send them from t...

How to recycle punctured rubber (?) dish washing gloves
(Preview)
Any ideas out there, or how to fix them once punctured? I had a brain wave the other day when yet another glove started taking in water (always the right hand grr). I started cutting the cuff and fingers straight across to make elastic bands. I thought it was an ingenious idea but maybe it has been around...

Tyres
(Preview)
Quite often when travelling you come across a van or trailer with a blown tyre. After 6 years tyres start to break down and by 7 years the tyres will fail. Some people think that because tyres look new with plenty of tread they are ok. If you google the DOT code on a tyre it can tell you how old the tyre is. Hope...

This post is more about caravan building than GNing. I am kinda thinking aloud rather than making a specific point and would welcome anyone's two bob's worth. I am presently fitting out an old van to live/travel in. I envisage a 50k/day longstay freecamp lifestyle. I am solo and have a Cruiser / 24 fo...
