Caravan boot lid removal

Does anyone know how to remove the front boot lid (golden eagle pop top) ? I have removed the gas struts for replacement but cannot work out how to slide the lid off. I need to replace the shrunken plastic on the door front. I have tried YouTube but only frustration resulted. Can anyone help? Smith
