2010 Pajero 3.2 Diesel starter not engaging.. :(

Turning key to start and nothing happens, thought it might not be in Park properly, no such luck. It doesn't even try to engage starter. Battery is showing 11.98V. Would that sort of fault show up on an OBD11 reader? Aussie Paul.
