towball wear
(Preview)
Two and a half decades of caravaning hasn't stopped the occasional need for an answer to a newbie question. Just replaced the tow ball and put on a nice shiny chrome one. 100 ks later and a week by the sea this is what it looks like. I used a wax stick for lubrication, but it didn't stop what ever seems to be gr...

We were looking at getting a camec 4kg front loader but have heard bad reports that they go out of balance and use more water when trying to rebalance. They also are prone to breaking drum springs which has just happened to my sisters brand new one. Am now considering either a sphere 3kg or camec 3kg both t...

Solar Power is the place to discuss all things solar. Other stuff in the Techies' Corner !
(Preview)
Hi I know when you first go on a forum it all seems a bit of a mystery and it is hard to know where to post. My suggestion is to read a few of the threads first to get the feel of it ! My beef is the posting of odd questions in the Solar subforum. It clearly says "Solar Power The place to discuss all things solar". Th...

We had a Purple line Caravan Mover (4 motors) fitted to the caravan but were a bit disappointed in its performance. Basically where a single axle caravan can turn on its own axis this is not possible with a tandem axle van. However the biggest problem was the jockey wheel digging in so I designed a new ve...

Advice on 3.2m (10ft5) telescopic style climb ladder.
(Preview)
We need a ladder to gain access to the top of our van while on the road. The ladder needs to be a min of 3m. Has anyone any experience using the 3.2m (10ft5) telescopic style climb ladder as advertised on Ebay. Looks to me as though they bend, which I suppose is the clearance of each sliding piece. Also they...
